Done, and Done
The goal today was to get a little over 23 miles ridden via bicycle. This would serve to close out my final two goals of the year:
- 200 miles in December
- 5,000 miles in 2007
A couple of the troops rallied to my call: Russ and Dale showed up at the appointed hour to help me get this done. I was prepared to ride it alone, but having these guys along for support, and to help pull through the headwinds was great. Hey, it’s New Year’s Eve and everyone HAS to have something better to do, if nothing else but to rest-up for what’s to come later in the evening. Having cycling-friends is a good thing. Thank you to everyone that pulled my lard butt up road and trail this year.
It was a beautiful afternoon, clear skies and views of Mt. Rainier for most of the ride. I crossed 5,000 ytd at around mile 18, and 200 for December at mile 23.1:

I’m feeling good, and quite pleased with the results. I have no idea what’s in store for 2008. My gut feel at the moment is that it will be “destination-oriented” rather than mileage-oriented, but who knows?
