I went with one of the Performance goretex jackets with a mesh liner. (Kind of like this one.) The liner keeps the shell away from my skin. There are a lot of zippered vents for fiddling with temperature. Haven't found a decent set of gloves; I also just replaced my neoprene booties with ones that are 90% less porous. (sigh) If it's very crappy out (like it is expected this week), I'll wear wool socks. Costco has a 4 pack of thick (non-cycling) socks for pretty cheap.

Rod, the bike shop doesn’t seem to have a lot of inventory in Clydesdale sizes, so I’m still searching for a new jacket.

Julie, my HIT spin sessions have been going through a plague of Neil Diamond. My Ipod is getting as much of a workout as my legs, it seems.

How “high priced” is that jacket?
Looks like an REI water sucker to me. Worst jacket ever made in my opinion.

Contarily, if a fine product from other sources, then it was obviously too wet to ride.
