October 2007 Recap

The month-end statistics for October, 2007:

October Road Spin
Year Days Hours Miles Days Hours
2006 15 21.93 270.50 0 0.00
2007 16 27.17 356.99 0 0.00

A nice stretch over my 2006 mileage. Almost the same number of days riding, which means that average mileage per ride is increasing. That is somehow reassuring to the stat-lover within me.

My mileage continues to dwindle month-over-month, but that is to be expected given the time of year.

My goal for the month was 300 miles, so I cleared that hurdle with room to spare. As long as I can average 200 miles in each of the next two months, I will have achieved my goal of 5,000 miles for the year. November marks the beginning of the High-Intensity Training (HIT) spin sessions. These workouts will be physically taxing… to the point that they will likely reduce my road-riding time.

November also marks the beginning of the Use It or Lose It rides for Cascade Bike Club. I’ve only committed to Tuesday nights this year. Given that HIT will be Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, it will be very interesting to see how many Thursday night Use It or Lose It rides I just “show up” for.

November is also National Blog Posting Month, a.k.a. “NaBloPoMo”. You can expect to see several entries on how tired I am. Here’s to hoping they are informative, or at least mildly entertaining.
