Ride of Silence 2007
Please mark your cycling calendars for the 2007 edition of the Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 16th. Click the logo below for background information on this annual ride that pays tribute to those cyclists who were injured or killed by collisions with motorists.
The largest local gathering for this ride is the Seattle version, which will be starting at 6:30 p.m. at Gas Works Park. Last year approximately 700 riders took part in a 10 mile ride at 12 mph through downtown. My understanding is that the route has been changed this year to avoid the painful bottleneck at Stone Way. I plan on attending the Seattle edition, unless a groundswell of support materializes for a South King County version.
