A weekend of Cascade Bike Club rides
On Saturday Terri and I led a Newcomers’ Ride on the Green River and Interurban Trails, starting from Tukwila. Although the weather was threatening with great dark clouds that appeared ready to rain on our little parade, a parade we had! (It was dark enough that I didn’t bother to bring the camera. Silly me). 15 folks showed up ready to ride, and the rain went on holiday for our 23 mile jaunt. It was a great group, and everyone was “smiles” at the end.
Sunday I was asked/prodded/cajoled into helping lead the Cascade Training Series ride around Lake Washington. Although they had ride leaders for each speed classification, they wanted additional leaders to function as general shepherds of the flock. That sort of thing is right up my alley, so a’shepherding I went.
As was the case last year, I ended up helping Byron out with the “Yellow” group, 12-14 mph average. I thought I had a good turnout the day before, but we had 47 folks in the group this day, so I’m glad we ended up with 4 ride leaders to help out. The weather held out for us again, and I actually got some sun on nose and cheeks by the end of our 50 miler.
1,380 miles year-to-date.

I love the picture. The overall posture of the group is nice, but I especially like the grumpy-looking arms-foldy guy in the center. Hee hee. They look like quite the gang of misfits!
