The ever-popular Newcomers’ rides

Newcomers 20060826 briefingOn Saturday, Terri and I led another Newcomers Ride for Cascade Bicycle Club. The route was the same as we’ve used the last few times, a 20 mile long flat loop through the Kent Valley.

We had a really good group of 10 this time, everyone in good spirits, on-time, and prepared to ride. One person knew within the first 1/2 mile that she was not going to be able to hold the 11-12 mph pace, and she self-selected to leave the ride and cruise the trails on her own. We saw her at the end of the ride, and she had a wonderful time exploring on her own, so absolutely everyone was all smiles at the end of the ride.

Cycling the Green River Trail in Kent, Washington Terri led for the entire ride, so I was able to just cruise along at the back of the pack, and take a couple of pictures. A nice day, and nice weather. 20 mile day, 3,166 ytd.
