The ever-popular Newcomers’ rides
On Saturday, Terri and I led another Newcomers Ride for Cascade Bicycle Club. The route was the same as we’ve used the last few times, a 20 mile long flat loop through the Kent Valley.
We had a really good group of 10 this time, everyone in good spirits, on-time, and prepared to ride. One person knew within the first 1/2 mile that she was not going to be able to hold the 11-12 mph pace, and she self-selected to leave the ride and cruise the trails on her own. We saw her at the end of the ride, and she had a wonderful time exploring on her own, so absolutely everyone was all smiles at the end of the ride.

Terri led for the entire ride, so I was able to just cruise along at the back of the pack, and take a couple of pictures. A nice day, and nice weather. 20 mile day, 3,166 ytd. |
