John’s Ramblings

Last Wednesday, we availed ourselves the opportunity to go watch the “friendly” soccer match between Real Madrid and the MLS team D.C. United. The big star of the night was David Beckham, who’s every move was “oooo’d” and “ahhhh’d” by the crowd. There was some really splendid soccer played, and amazingly enough almost 67,000 people came out to watch the game. Mr. Beckham only graced us with one half of play, but the game was great nonetheless. DC United surprised many by holding off the Madrid team with some lovely defense, the game ending in a 1-1 tie.

Almost as entertaining as the game were these two yahoo’s. They kept us entertained with their version of “hey, I’m down here calling you on my cell phone, can you see me yet?” This went on for at least 10 minutes.
