When the screen got cracked, your service folks informed me it "wasn't worth fixing", that the $300 device was basically disposable, and that I needed to just go buy a new one.
I was, however, able to get my IPod fixed by going to another vendor for repair. Their service was excellent, and I was able to get my screen replaced and the battery upgraded for less than half what I would have been charged to just replace my IPod, if I had chosen to do so.
Today, I received an email from Apple telling me my 1 year IPod warranty was about to expire, but that I could extend it by spending $59.
I'm confused. Is this product disposable, or is it not?
Thanks so much for your time, Mr. Jobs.
