After 4 weeks off, I have to return to work tomorrow. Total fluke that they let me take this much time off, but my boss had a moment of weakness, and approved it.

Actually, the timing of my request was excellent. Back in say, May, my boss made a speech about how we needed to take our vacation time, and that no one person was so important that the company couldn't survive without him/her.

The words were barely across his lips before my email request hit his Inbox. He approved it.

I've taken a few calls about problems, etc., but I've made it through 4 weeks and I've only really had to open my laptop twice. Not bad. Never happen again, but it was cool while it lasted.

Now, as long as there isn't an email (one of a couple hundred, I'm sure*) announcing that my job has been moved offshore, I think I'm ready to face the day.

*About 1/3 of these emails will be automatically generated messages from the email server entity/diety, announcing that my inbox is too full. Duh.
