About John
See John ride his bike.
Ride, John, ride!
John works as a programmer/consultant in the Professional Services Group of Ceridian, a payroll processing and Human Resource Information System provider (among other things). John is presently spending his days building custom extensions to the HR/payroll front-end product, HR/Payroll Web.
He is now dabbling in web development on his own, having put together this site, as well as a site for his sister's quilting business Hen House Quilts.
Prior to his current 10+ year stint at Ceridian, John worked as HR Systems Manager at Starbucks Coffee Company, and before that managed the Human Resources Department at Pacific First Bank, which has since been acquired by Washington Mutual.
He caught the cycling bug as a lad growing up in Palos Verdes, California, riding his Schwinn Varsity 10-speed around the peninsula and north to points such as Redondo and Manhattan Beach. After many years out of the saddle he and Terri bought road bikes in the summer of 2002.
Things got much more serious when he started an indoor cycling regime at a local gym in March 2005. There was a group of regulars in the class who were planning to participate in the Cascade Bike Club's RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver and Party) 188 mile ride in August, one week after his 50th birthday. Five months, 1,700 miles, and 30 pounds later he made the RSVP ride, thanks in no small part to his training and riding partner, Kevin Jahne.
With kids pretty well launched, John spends his non-working, non-cycling hours with his wife Terri, and their furry kids. He also occasionally brews beer at home, and enjoys flying stunt kites at the beach.
John graduated high school in 1973 from Chadwick School in Palos Verdes, California. He scoured the internet and rounded up many of his classmates for their 30 year class reunion. He loves hearing from old friends and classmates, so if that's you, please contact him.
